Fort Worth Helicopter Crash Nearly Kills Three

Near Alliance Airport, northwest of Fort Worth, three men aboard a helicopter were fortunate to escape with their lives after the copter made a hard landing last weekend. The routine training flight turned dangerous when the pilot reported a tail rotor malfunction during a rapid dissent toward a field near Blue Mound Road. The flight nearly turned deadly when the helicopter landed, rolling on its side and releasing fuel into the cabin. Moments after the pilot and passengers escaped the cabin, the fuel caught fire, destroying the craft and scotching the grass field where they crashed.

Recreational helicopter and airplane flights cause injury and death in the DFW area every year. For the families of victims, the result can be emotionally and financially catastrophic. Cyclists Call for Fort Worth to Make City More Bike Friendly

Fort Worth cyclists complain that cycling to work isn’t realistic. Friday’s successful Bike to Work Day saw many Fort Worth residents celebrate the annual event, underscoring the importance of pro-cycling changes like bike lanes, traffic sensors and improved public awareness. However, some transportation experts worry that increasing cycling in the city will likewise raise the likelihood of accidents and, likewise, litigation. In 2009, for instance, more than 600 cyclists died on the roads and 51,000 were injured.

Have you been hit by a car while cycling? You have a right to the road! To fight for your place on the highway and protect yourself from the full cost of your injury, contact the personal injury experts at Fears | Nachawati. Premises Liability and Safety Concerns Lead to UNT’s Bee Eradication

As incredible as it sounds, for the better part of two decades the University of North Texas campus has been home to more than 3,000,000 bees. Living in colonies in a brick wall of the school’s Radio, TV and Film building, the bees – some of which have become aggressive in recent years – threatened thousands of students who walked on nearby sidewalks. For people allergic to bees, a sting can be a serious medical issue.

The legal concept of premise liability makes the owner of a property – such as the University of North Texas – responsible for any harm that befalls guests on the property. In the case of North Texas’s 3 million bees, anyone injured by bee stings probably would have a viable legal claim against UNT and its decision to host the injury-causing insects.

Have you been harmed by the dangers imposed by your neighbors, employer or school? If so, you should contact the personal injury attorneys at Fears | Nachawati immediately. For a free consultation, call at 1.866.705.7584 or send an email to info@fnlawfirm.com.

American Airlines Flight Makes Emergency Landing

A suspected engine fire forced an American Airlines flight from Dallas to Washington, D.C. to make an emergency landing last weekend. The twin-engine MD 80 successfully landed at Little Rock National Airport in Arkansas about fifteen minutes after declaring a state of emergency on board the plane. According to a Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) spokesperson, none of the 136 passengers and 5 crewmembers were injured during the flight or as a result of the emergency landing.

Last weekend’s American Airlines passengers were fortunate. However, tragically that’s not always the case. LBJ Freeway Expansion Threatens Driver Safety

In the long-run, the LBJ Freeway expansion will be beneficial. As one of the most congested roadways in the nation, I-635 is in dire need of the $2 billion renovation that began last weekend and is anticipated to take five years. However, the tragic reality is that the next five years will include dangerous construction and risky driving. Both workers and passengers will likely suffer injury as a result of the expansive project and the sheer volume of traffic that will pass through the busy area.

If you’re involved in an accident on LBJ while its under construction, you should speak with the injury experts at Fears | Nachawati. While negligence is often the cause of traffic accidents, improper roadway construction and renovation may be a contributing factor, too. Fears Nachawati Defends Victims from Google

If you have a smart phone, you’re probably very familiar with your apps. Without apps like Pandora, FoxNews, or Flixster apps, you wouldn’t have the unparalleled access to music, news, or movie times that add life to your morning routine, evening commute, or night-on-the-town. Of course, without apps, the personal privacy of thousands of customers – and possibly even yours – wouldn’t have been violated, either.

As reported in the Wall Street Journal, numerous apps running on Google’s Android operating system systematically transmit their owners’ location information and unique device ID directly to Google – and to third-party advertisers. Google’s undisclosed relationship with third party advertisers has plenty of Americans irate as they belatedly discover that their seemingly innocuous telephone is a digital age Trojan horse.

Fighting for mobile phone users nationwide, Fears Nachawati is taking on the Silicon Valley behemoth. Earlier this month, Fears Nachawati filed a class action lawsuit against Google for its failure to act in a reasonable manner to enable users to prevent third-party advertisers from accessing users’ unique device ID, among other related allegations.

Join the fight! If you’d like to take part in the Fears | Nachawati class action lawsuit against Google, contact us immediately! Defend your rights and protect fellow phone users. All you have to do is call 1.866.705.7584 or send an email to info@fnlawfirm.com.

Fort Worth Now Offers River Wakeboarding – But Is It Safe?

This spring, the nation’s first urban wakeboarding park will open on Fort Worth’s branch of the Trinity River. The park, known as Cowtown Wake Park, brings together aspects of surfing, water skiing, and snowboarding by using a complicated cable towing system to move customers across the water. In fact, engineers from Germany have arrived in Fort Worth to oversee the final implementation of the unprecedented tow system.

While many water sports fans are getting excited, several Fort Worth citizens are asking an important question: is it safe? It’s too early to tell, but concerns abound. Every year, more than 500 Americans die in water sports accidents. For many families, the risk of injury represents too high a high price to pay for summer fun. This summer, if you or a family member are injured during water recreation, contact the personal injury experts at Fears | Nachawati. Call 1.866.705.7584 or send an email to info@fnlawfirm.com.

According to one student, “The escalator started going down really fast and we all just fell on top of each other.” State law requires regular inspections of public escalators, however, the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation confirmed that DART failed to provide an inspection report on the escalator last year in violation of state law.

Fort Worth Boy in Vegetative State Turns Five

In 2009, life tragically changed for Abdallah Khader. A two-year-old, Abdallah was riding in his mother’s car when a repeatedly convicted drunk driver slammed into the back of the Khader’s car as it sat at a red light. Although Abdallah survived the accident, the drunk driver – whose blood alcohol limit was three times the legal limit – left him in a vegetative state.

Last week, Abdallah’s parents celebrated their son’s fifth birthday. As any parent would, they hung balloons, placed signs and served cake. However, Abdallah was unaware of all of these acts of affection. Incredibly, legal challenges have resulted in continued delays, and even now the Khader family has gone without a trial of the man who robbed their son of the vitality of life.
