DART’s Mockingbird Station Injures Children

An escalator malfunction at the DART Mockingbird Station injured more than a dozen Thompson Middle School students who were on a field trip to Dallas. According to one student, “The escalator started going down really fast and we all just fell on top of each other.” State law requires regular inspections of public escalators, however, the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation confirmed that DART failed to provide an inspection report on the escalator last year in violation of state law.
