Fire Destroys Fort Worth Homes

A fire in Fort Worth’s Golden Triangle Estates community yesterday afternoon destroyed six homes before firefighters were able to control the blaze. As a result of the rapidly spreading and highly destructive fire, more than a dozen North Texans are starting down the long road to financial and emotional recovery.

Fires are common this summer, as a record heat wave makes unintentional fires more likely and much harder to put out. The tragic result is that a record number of North Texans have lost their homes and businesses. Most have insurance policies, but insurance companies are sometimes reluctant to pay the full cost of the damage.

That’s not right! Fears | Nachawati understands how insurance companies operate and the tricks that many use to deprive you of all the benefits you deserve under your policy. If you’ve suffered fire damage and feel like you’ve been cheated out of full repayment, talk to us! For a free consultation, call 1.866.705.7584 or email info@fnlawfirm.com.

Four Die in Tragic Car Accident

In the early hours of last Saturday morning, a southbound Ford Mustang travelling down FM 730, a two-lane road northwest of Fort Worth, attempted an illegal pass with tragic results. In the midst of the pass, the driver of the Mustang saw the bright lights of an oncoming Ford F-350; both attempted to evade, but to no avail. The F-350 slammed into the car almost head-on, immediately killing four of the five passengers in the Mustang.

In a horrifying irony, the driver of the Mustang, a 17-year-old who graduated high school in May, survived the accident and was transported to a Fort Worth hospital with serious injuries. The driver of the F-350 suffered internal injuries, but was released from Wise Regional Health System later that day.

Stroke Victim Sues City of Dallas for Race Discrimination

Dianne Irons is a stroke victim. As a result, she has slurred speech. In a recent encounter with the Dallas Police Department, Ms. Irons and her nephew, Ben Irons, attempted to tell the city officials that the cause of her slurred speech was her stroke, not intoxication. Refusing to believe the medical records put to them by Ben Irons, however, the police drug Ms. Irons to jail and held her in a “drunk tank” for six hours before releasing her.

Ms. Irons, an African-American, believes that the police may have arrested her because of her race. In fact, she’s retained legal counsel and decided to fight for her day in court. She has already filed a federal suit.

Ms. Iron’s case is unfortunate, but unfortunately not unique. The civil rights of men and women across North Texas are frequently violated. If you’ve been the subject of an unwarranted arrest or unnecessary search or detention, you should speak to the attorneys at Fears | Nachawati. We know what you’ve experienced and how you can fight for your day in court. Call 1.866.705.7584 or email info@fnlawfirm.com. We can help!

Richardson Child Injured in Go-Kart Accident

A 12-year-old child was seriously injured earlier this week when a careless driver hit him while he was peddling his go-kart on the sidewalk. To make matters even worse, the driver allegedly failed to render aid, adding to the severity of the injuries the child sustained. At present, the child is in the hospital, fighting for his life.

Tragically, accidents involving children happen almost every day. For understandable reasons, the emotional, legal, and financial fallout of child accidents tend to be more severe than run-of-the-mill personal injury cases. The attorney who counsels the family needs a unique set of skills.

The legal experts at Fears | Nachawati have the skills and experience your family needs to help you pick up the pieces after a child injury. Zero Gravity Thrill Park Strands Customers for Two Hours

Earlier this week, an engaged couple went to the Zero Gravity Thrill Park near I-35 and Walnut Hill to ride the “Texas Blastoff,” a bungee jump known for thrilling customers. This time, however, the ride didn’t thrill, but terrify. After riding the bungee jump for sixty seconds, the ride locked up, stranding the couple high in the air. The theme park, unable to rescue their customers themselves, was forced to call the Dallas Fire Department who were only able to rescue the couple after they were stranded in the air for more than two hours.

North Texans in several Ellis County towns, including Waxahachie, Venus, Midlothian, Mansfield, Godley, and Alvarado, awoke early yesterday morning to a 3.0 magnitude earthquake. Although far smaller than the more famous and destructive earthquakes in California, the Ellis County earthquake, whose epicenter was located just a few miles outside of Waxahachie, startled thousands of citizens and damaged local property.

Firefighters Injured in Dallas Blaze

Four Dallas firefighters were hurt earlier this week while fighting a fire started in a vacant house. When the home's roof collapsed, a firefighter who was on the roof fell into the fire. Three fellow firefighters were able to pull him from the burning home, but not before all of them sustained burns and smoke inhalation.

Firefighters routinely face considerable risk in the line of duty. Unfortunately, these risks are made more significant when property owners are negligent in the maintenance of their home or business. Risk to firefighter safety is compounded further when property owners maintain dangerous products or chemicals on the premises.

If your loved one is a firefighter, they need to know the risks they face and understand that negligent or dangerous property owners may be responsible for the unique dangers firefighters encounter as they fight fires. To understand all of these complicated legal issues, talk to the experts at Fears | Nachawati. We're ready to help you and, if necessary, fight on your behalf. Texas Summer Heat Makes Roads More Dangerous

Across North Texas, daily temperatures are regularly soaring past 100 degrees. Some of the heat wave’s effects, less comfort and more sweating, are obvious. Other effects, however, are subtler. You may not know, but the high Texas heat is actually making roads less safe! According to the Texas Department of Transportation, repair crews are now being sent at least once a week on heat-related road repair missions. Often, highways dip and warp, ultimately causing the roads to “blowout.” These blowouts are dangerous!

Have you been in an automobile accident this summer? If so, you need a full-throated defense of your rights. Many factors may have contributed to your accident, including road conditions like warps, dips, and blowouts. Before you sign away your rights, talk to the experts at Fears | Nachawati. The famed Texas Giant at Six Flags over Texas malfunctioned yesterday, forcing patrons to hike down from the top of the first drop, a total of 14 stories above ground. Fortunately, no injuries were reported as a result of the malfunction, however, Six Flags is developing a risky track record: yesterday’s incident marks the second time in three days that the Texas Giant has been shut down as the result of a malfunction.

Did Fireworks Cause Plano Sports Bar’s Demise?

Independence Day brought with it a great July 4th celebration for many families this year, but not for the owners of the Austin Avenue Grill and Sports Bar. After 15 years serving the Plano and Dallas areas, the local fixture has met a tragic end. Late Monday night, the bar caught fire, completely burning down before local firefighters could control the blaze. Early investigations revealed that fireworks might have contributed to the fire.

Fires cause millions of dollars in property damage every year. Homes and businesses alike are destroyed as a result of unanticipated fires that sweep through and destroy a life’s worth of work in just an hour or two. If you’re recovering from fire damage, you need all of the insurance proceeds you deserve. To make sure that your insurance company pays the full amount of your claim, talk to the property claims experts at Fears | Nachawati. Call 1.866.705.7584 or email info@fnlawfirm.com. Fireworks in the City: Just Say No!

With Texas experiencing one of the most serious wildfire seasons in recent memory, many North Texas cities, including Dallas and Fort Worth, have instituted strict fireworks bans inside city limits. These bans underscore just how serious the risk of fire is in North Texas. When it comes to fireworks in the city, the solution is as simple as Nancy Reagan’s adage regarding drugs: Just Say No. Don’t use them and don’t risk injuring people or damaging property with them. Fireworks could result in serious legal trouble!

If your property is damaged as a result of fireworks this July 4th, contact the legal experts at Fears | Nachawati. North Texas governments have warned their citizens. The risks of misuse and the consequences of negligent action are entirely on the people who set off fireworks in the city. Arlington Two-Alarm Fire Destroys Apartment Complex

Last weekend, a fire raged across the Lodge at Legacy Park, an Arlington apartment complex, heavily damaging four units and threatening dozens more. Fortunately, no one was killed or injured, however, Dallas fires are a major cause of injury to persons and property. Annually, Dallas’ thousands of fires destroy more than $30 million in property.

Fire insurance is supposed to cover sustained damage. Fire insurers, however, sometimes underpay valid claims, litigate with claimants, wrongfully accusing them of attempted fraud, and delay payment in hopes of reducing the amount of money they are ultimately required to pay to claimants.

Fears | Nachawati knows how to protect you against a fire insurer that refuses to pay your legitimate claims. If you’re property has been destroyed in a fire, talk to our experts. For a free consultation, call 1.866.705.7584 or email info@fnlawfirm.com. Let us help you!
