Arlington Accident Kills Three Teens

In the small hours of this morning, three teenagers died when their car crossed oncoming lanes of traffic and slammed into an electrical control box and pole. The boys died soon after arriving at Parkland.

Arlington 18-Wheeler Accident Kills Driver

Late yesterday an 18-wheeler driver lost control of his big rig and drove off of Interstate-20 just past the intersection of I-20 and Highway 360. The weight of the truck, the force of its momentum, and the dry, hard-packed dirt near the highway made it impossible to stop the 18-wheeler before the rig slammed into a nearby culvert. Unfortunately, although emergency crews struggled to rescue the driver from the mangled cab, the driver died.

With so many 18-wheelers on the road, it’s easy to forget how dangerous these powerful, hard-to-control behemoths can be. For big rig drivers and car drivers alike, forgetting that lesson can be fatal, as yesterday’s tragic accident reminds us.

Garbage Truck Accident Takes Life, Closes Highway

A resident of The Colony, Texas, died this morning when she inadvertently stepped in front of an oncoming garbage truck. At the time of the accident the woman was attempting to cross Highway 121 (Sam Rayburn Tollway). The road was closed for much of the morning as a result of the accident.

Today’s accident is a tragic reminder of the dangers pedestrians face as they share the road with car and truck drivers. Given the size, weight, and speed of automobiles, accidents with pedestrians often cause considerable personal injury. If you or a loved one has been involved in a pedestrian-car accident, you need professionals who understand how delicate and sensitive these situations can be.

Drunk Driver Injures Irving City Employee

Drunk driving kills nearly 5,000 Texans every year. The best news for an Irving dump truck driver slowly recovering in a D/FW hospital is that he’s not one of this year’s fatalities. Tragically, the City of Irving worker was seriously injured when a drunk driver slammed into his truck earlier this week. The city worker wasn’t the only driver injured – the drunk driver sustained injuries as well and was taken to the hospital.

Fears | Nachawati has extensive experience dealing with injuries caused by drunk drivers. If you’ve been injured, you don’t have to face the future alone. We’re ready to help you! Dallas IHOP Accidentally Gets a Drive-Thru Window

Earlier this week a Ford Expedition backed into – and through – the exterior wall of a local IHOP. Post-accident images reveal a gaping hole in the side of the building!

It’s true: the vast majority of automobile accidents happen on the road and between the lines. However, that’s not where all accidents occur. Every year there are hundreds of accidents – everything from fender-benders to fatalities – that occur when cars hit roadside obstructions, such as mailboxes, fences, road signs, and buildings.

How much do these accidents cost? Are the damages covered by the driver’s automobile insurance? Can decisions by the property owner impact the extent of the driver’s liability? These are the right kinds of questions to ask, but the most important question is who should answer them?

For some of the most experienced, well-trained, and courtroom-tested attorneys in Texas, contact the accident specialists at Fears | Nachawati. Grand Prairie Driver Ignores Stop Sign, Takes Life

A D/FW family is without their mother and grandmother because a driver failed to follow the rules of the road. Juana Mancilla died Saturday afternoon when a driver slammed into the passenger side of her son’s Ford Expedition, throwing her from the car and causing the SUV to roll on top of her. The driver and four other passengers – all members of the same family – were taken by ambulance to a nearby hospital. Tragically, although the other members of the family are expected to make a full recovery, they’ll do so without Juana, who was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.

Are you grieving the loss of a loved one who was killed in an automobile accident? Unfortunately, the death of Ms. Mancilla is an all-too-common occurrence on North Texas’s roads and highways. In many cases, these avoidable accidents are the result of reckless driving, like speeding, changing lanes without signaling, or running a stop sign.

Fears | Nachawati helps victims like you. We’re prepared to defend your interests by guarding your legal rights. Don’t let insurance companies and negligent drivers take advantage of you! Arlington’s Texting-While-Driving Ban Underscores Frequently Fatal Risk

Smart phones have led to some dumb decisions in recent years. This year, for instance, thousands of drivers – many of them teenagers – will be injured or killed as a result of using their phone while driving. Talking and driving is dangerous, but it’s texting-while-driving that is particularly risky – and most frequently fatal.

The City of Arlington is taking action. Earlier this week, the City Council passed a partial ban on cell phone use that is set to go into effect before Thanksgiving. D/FW drivers passing through the City of Arlington can still use their phone as a phone, they just can’t text-while-driving or surf the web on their smart phone.

The City of Arlington ban suggests what many drivers have intuitively known for years: texting-while-driving constitutes risky behavior. If you’re involved in an accident as a result of another driver’s decision to text-and-drive, you likely have a strong case that their reckless decision-making contributed to your loss and suffering. Fort Worth’s Loop 820 Finally Reopens after 6 Vehicle Wreck

A six-car pile-up shut down most of Loop 820 this morning, partially closing the roadway for nearly six hours. The accident, which involved a tractor-trailer, sent at least one man to the hospital and caused hundreds of thousands of dollars in damage.

Major accidents happen in D/FW virtually every day. As a result, drivers and their families often find themselves spending more time than they ever expected reviewing their insurance policies and dealing with their insurance agents. In some cases, accident victims spend a considerable amount of time dealing with other drivers’ insurance agents, too. Before you speak to an insurance representative, you should give us a call!

Three Fort Worth Teens Die in Tragic Accident

This weekend a BMW driven by a 19 year-old burst into flames after the driver lost control, drove headlong through oncoming lanes, and crashed into a utility pole at a high speed. Although one passenger in the back seat was able to escape from the burning vehicle and sustained only minimal injury, tragically three other teens were unable to escape, dying as a result of the accident.

How should you approach your insurance company if you’ve been in a single car accident? What information do you need to get from the driver that hit you? If your loved one dies in an auto accident, what steps should you take to ensure the success of your wrongful death lawsuit?

Dallas Motorcyclist Dies in 18-Wheeler Collision

Earlier yesterday morning a motorcyclist died tragically when poor decisions and high speeds resulted in an unnecessary accident on I-20 outside of Dallas. According to reports, the fatal incident started when a police officer attempted to pull the motorcyclist over for a traffic violation. Rather than pull over, the motorcyclist accelerated, attempting to leave the police cruiser behind him. Unfortunately, the motorcyclist slammed into the trailer of an 18-wheeler and, as a result, died.

Pickup Passenger Dies in Dallas Truck Bed Accident

You probably see it almost every day on your commute: people riding in the bed of a pickup truck. If you own a truck, it makes sense. You need to carry people around, and the bed stays empty most of the time. Why not have a couple of friends ride in the back?

A grizzly accident in Garland, Texas, earlier this week provided a reminder as to why it’s against the law in many communities to drive a pickup with passengers in the bed. While driving down LBJ Expressway near Northwest Highway, a man fell from the back of his friend’s pickup truck, landing on the highway. Tragically, the fallen passenger was then run over by several vehicles. By the time traffic finally slowed, the man had already sustained catastrophic injuries and had died at the scene.

Is the driver responsible for his passenger’s injuries? Would you be responsible if this happened to you and your friend? Fears | Nachawati can answer these important legal questions. We understand when legal liability attaches to individuals and how you can defend yourself against spurious claims. If you’ve been in an accident, you should contact us immediately! Fort Worth’s I-35W: the Most Stressful Road in Texas

The Texas Department of Transportation released a comprehensive study last week that ranked the roads Texans found most stressful. At the top of the list was the stretch of I-35W between I-30 and 28th Street. It’s not hard to understand why: Fort Worth’s I-35W is the most congested road in Texas during rush hour traffic, even more prone to gridlock than Dallas’s Woodall Rogers, LBJ Freeway, and Central Expressway.

As a result of the severe congestion on I-35W, hundreds of D/FW residents are involved in car accidents every year. If you regularly commute on I-35W, Woodall Rogers, LBJ, or any of the other major roads in Dallas, you should be careful when you drive. If you’re involved in an accident, you should contact the expert accident attorneys who know the roads you travel. Two Teens and Father Die in Head-On Crash

A Parker County father was scheduled to pick up his 5 year-old daughter Wednesday night. He never made it. Instead, a 16 year-old driver slammed into the father’s car head-on, killing the father, a 13 year-old passenger, and himself.

The accident happened on a two-lane road when the 16 year-old attempted to pass a slower moving car ahead of him. Tragically, he misjudged the distance between himself and oncoming traffic, leaving the father, an oncoming driver, literally nowhere to turn.
