School bus driver injured in wreck

A Crowley ISD school bus driver was injured in a wreck Monday morning. Authorities say that a bus was turning into a subdivision when it was his by a second school bus from behind. The impact thrust the first bus into a brick facade surrounding the subdivision. The first bus driver was injured, along with twelve middle school students.

Oncor meter installer bitten by dog

An Oncor meter installer was recently bitten by a large dog while trying to install a new electric meter at a customer's home in Crowley. The worker was attempting to install a smart-meter when he was bitten in the hand by the dog. The worker defended himself with a dog repellent spray, preventing further injury.

Teachers and students sickened by gas leak at school

Two teachers and five students were sickened by a natural gas leak at Crowley Ninth Grade Campus. The gas leak occurred in a science classroom and came from a line designated for use by a Bunsen burner. The teachers and students complained of dizziness and other symptoms, and were transported by ambulances to Hugely Memorial Medical Center for treatment and observation. The campus was evacuated while firefighters located the leak and shut off gas to the affected part of the building.
