Brewery Explosion Injures Employees

Saturday night an unexpected explosion at McKinney’s Franconia Brewing Company injured two employees and caused guests to flee the North Texas brewery.

For more than three years, Franconia has been dealing with challenges of operating a brewery. Now, it faces the very different challenge of potential litigation stemming from its employees' injuries.

Latent risks lurk at many businesses, including breweries, oil refineries, health care facilities, and run-of-the-mill offices. When potential risks become actual adverse events – such as explosions, fires, or dangerous conditions – the people who are most often hurt are the people who were hurt at the Franconia accident: employees.

If you’ve been hurt on the job, you should talk to the legal professionals at Fears | Nachawati immediately. Poor Road Causes Drivers to Drive Car into Lake

Dallas’s Lake Ray Hubbard was the site of a costly – and nearly fatal – automobile accident this weekend. On Saturday, a driver, Ngac Do, and her passenger drove onto a boat ramp, thinking it was an onramp, and directly into Lake Ray Hubbard. Both driver and passenger were trapped inside as the waters rose around their car, only escaping when a Rockwall Deputy Sherriff saved them.

Automobile accidents happen at times – and in ways – that you least expect. And sometimes the party responsible for the accident isn’t even a participant in the accident at all. Sometimes it’s the negligent driver who causes the accident but escapes any damage. Other times, such as Saturday’s late night crash, it’s an institution, like the City of Dallas, the entity that owns and operates the negligently designed and unnecessarily dangerous roadway that leads directly into the lake.

When these kinds of “ghost causes” are responsible for your accident, it can be hard to know how to move forward. Thankfully, the attorneys at Fears | Nachawati are prepared for the situation you’re handling. With years of experience and courtroom tested expertise, we’re ready to help you. Just give us a call! Christmas Lights Lead to Tragic Death

A Grand Prairie businessman died last weekend in the midst of celebrating the holiday season. Focused on stringing Christmas lights on a local business, the man lost sight of how close his metal ladder was coming to a line of Christmas lights suspended above him. Moments later, he moved the ladder into the string of lights, connecting a circuit that included himself, his ladder, the Christmas lights, and thousands of watts of electricity. Medical personnel took the electrocuted man to Arlington Memorial Hospital, but it was too late. The man was pronounced dead shortly after his arrival.

Be careful this holiday season! Although the holidays are often full of friends and fellowship, they are so also rife with hidden dangers. Slick roadways, cold weather and Christmas lights are just a few of the many risks that cause thousands of injuries every year. Protect yourself from injury!
