A convenience store clerk was shot to death during a robbery in Arlington. The robbery occurred at the store, in the 4500 block of South Bowen Road. The clerk, 54 year old Prem Sharma, was found by customers in the store who also called police and paramedics. Sharma died at the scene.

Employee loses arm in Fort Worth meat plant accident

A man's arm was severed from his body in what one emergency responder called a "traumatic amputation" at a Fort Worth meat plant. The accident occurred at Frontier Meats on Grove Street, at a facility that specializes in gourmet meats. The worker was transferred by air ambulance to Baylor Medical Center in Dallas. Acid spill in Fort Worth injures four

Two construction workers and two officers were injured, and a firefighter was treated for heat exhaustion, after a release of acid fumes at a Dannon Co. yogurt plant in Fort Worth. Firefighters closed streets around the plant for hours while the spill was contained and cleaned up. One construction worker, one officer and the firefighter were taken to area hospitals for treatment. Investigators say that a tank containing a diluted form of peracetic acid, a substance used to clean machinery in the plant, came into contact with some type of organic substance. On-duty Dallas police officer injured in hit-and-run

An on-duty Dallas police officer, in uniform and driving in a marked police car, was injured Sunday morning in a hit-and-run accident. The accident occurred on C.F. Hawn Freeway, also known as State Highway 175. The officer, Samantha Matje, was traveling westbound when her car was sideswiped, which caused her to collide with a third vehicle. Two workers hurt at industrial site in Fort Worth

One worker was burned and another was injured Tuesday in a fire at Texas Industrial Scrap Iron and Metal in north Fort Worth. The injured workers were working outside cutting metal containers with a torch when some of the materials ignited. Authorities believe that the containers may have had some kind of flammable contents.

One man suffered second- and third-degree burns over the right side of his body. The other man's hand was injured while battling the fire. The man who was burned was taken to Parkland Hospital in Dallas.

North Richland Hills Chase Bank employee hurt in robbery

A Chase Bank employee was injured today when he attempted to stop a robbery at the bank's North Richland Hills branch.

The robber posed as a Chase Bank employee. He had what appeared to be a Chase Bank identification badge in his possession. He started his crime by asking to speak to the branch manager. At some point the robber gained access to an undisclosed amount of money, which he grabbed and ran away with. A real employee was injured when he attempted to thwart the robber's escape. Fortunately the employees were minor.

The robber is still at large. Witnesses describe him as a white male in his 30s, medium height, medium build, dressed in Chase Bank attire.
