Gulf oil platform fire injures 13, all survive

An oil platform in the Gulf of Mexico caught fire last week. Thirteen workers were aboard the shallow-water platform when the incident occurred. The rig is located approximately 100 miles south of Louisiana's Vermilion Bay. Unlike the BP / TransOcean explosion and spill that began in April of this year, no workers were killed and no oil was spilled. The thirteen workers jumped from the platform into the water, and were promptly rescued. All were taken to hospitals for treatment, and are expected to make full recoveries.
