Cook injured in kitchen fire

A cook was injured in a kitchen fire at a lower Greenville restaurant last week. Investigators report that the cook was preparing food over a gas range when some grease apparently caught fire. The cook acted quickly and extinguished the blaze, keeping it confined to the stove area. He suffered second degree burns on one arm, and is expected to make a full recovery.

Cab driver assaulted in attempted robbery

A cab driver was assaulted during an attempted robbery in east Dallas. Authorities say that the driver picked up a passenger around 3 a.m. A short time later, the passenger assaulted the cab driver and attempted to rob him. A Rice man was injured at work when a tornado blew through his small Texas town. Security guard injured in incident at Fort Worth strip club

A security guard was injured in a scuffle at a Fort Worth strip club that ended with one patron being shot four times. Authorities say that a fight broke out early Friday morning in the parking lot of the Silhouette Cabaret club on Camp Bowie. Two groups of people were fighting in the club when they were thrown out. The groups continued fighting in the parking lot, and a security guard was injured in the melee. The incident continued to escalate, and a man involved in the fight was shot four times in the leg, back and head. The shooting suspects fled the scene. The security guard and the gunshot man were taken to an area hospital for treatment.

Weatherford police officer injured during drug bust

A Weatherford-Parker County police officer was injured Tuesday during a drug bust. Two suspects attempted to run the officer over as they fled from authorities. The incident started in the parking lot of Buffalo Wild Wings on Adams Drive. The officer fired at the vehicle as it tried to run him down. Delivery driver injured in I-30 wreck in Rockwall

A delivery driver was injured in a wreck on I-30 in Rockwall Thursday involving the box truck he was driving and another car. Authorities report that the other car, a late model Ford sedan, apparently lost control and drove into the median of the interstate. The sedan flipped over and skidded back into the mainlanes, where it struck the truck. The truck driver along with the two people in the sedan were taken to area hospitals for treatment.

Man dies from injuries sustained in oil field expolsion

A man who was severely burned in a West Texas oil field has died. Authorities say that the man, Abel Garcia, was engulfed by flames when leaking natural gas ignited. Garcia suffered severe burns over much of his body, and had been hospitalized since the explosion. The accident occurred at a well near Ackerly, about 45 miles northeast of Midland.

One injured in Fort Worth bank robbery

One person was injured in a north Fort Worth bank robbery Wednesday. Authorities report that the suspect robbed Pinnacle Bank on Western Center Boulevard. The suspect approached a teller, demanded money and displayed a handgun. Later, the suspect revealed a second handgun. Employees and customers were ordered around by the suspect, who later fired about a dozen rounds inside the bank. Nobody was shot, but one bank employee was injured by falling debris believed to be a result of the shooting.
