Arlington Police Tase Innocent Bystander

For the second time in as many weeks, citizens are questioning the conduct of the Arlington Police Department. Yesterday, an Arlington police officer mistakenly tased Jonathan Pierce, a Navy veteran and innocent bystander. Standing at the wrong place at the wrong time, the officer tased Pierce because he believed him to be a fleeing suspect. However, except for the fact that Pierce and the suspect both were wearing basketball jerseys, no other connection tied the two men together.

Mr. Pierce’s treatment at the hands of the Arlington Police Department may constitute police brutality and a violation of Mr. Pierce’s civil rights. Police officers and municipal officials are not immune to legal action. If you’ve been harassed by local police, you may have a viable legal claim.
