For the last three years, Draven Yzaguirre, a 13-year-old student in Midlothian ISD who is heavy-set and stutters, has suffer ridicule and abuse from fellow students. Things turned from bad to worse recently when in response to Yzaguiree’s Facebook post expressing despair, a fellow student encouraged him to take his own life. Fortunately, Yzaguirre’s subsequent suicide attempt was foiled, however, the entire situation has led some concerned citizens, spearheaded by the troubled teen’s parents to ask whether Midlothian ISD has done enough to protect their child from school cyber-bullies.
