In less than a week, careless drivers have struck and injured two police officers in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. Wednesday morning a Carrollton officer directing traffic was hit by a careless driver and pinned in his car. Fortunately, the officer’s injuries were non-life threatening. He is now recovering at Baylor University Medical Center.
Even though this week is unusually injurious for DFW police officers, the reality is that negligent drivers cause numerous injuries to police officers and law enforcement every year. These public servants deserve excellent legal protection in civil courts.
