A red suburban struck three children Sunday, killing a five-year-old and sending her six-year-old cousin to the hospital with serious injuries. After hitting the children, the driver threw his SUV into reverse and sped away, but not before he hit a nearby car. Although the toxicology report has not yet been released, the circumstances surrounding the accident suggest that the driver was inebriated at the time of the accident.
Hit-and-run accidents are all too common and too often fatal. Whether the victim is a child, an adult, or a grandparent, the pain for the victim’s family and friends is always very real.
