Tractor-trailer driver hurt in Johnson County crash

The driver of a tractor-trailer rig that was injured when the vehicle he was driving was involved in a serious Johnson County crash. Authorities report that the big rig was backing into a private drive when it was struck by a pickup truck traveling at a high rate of speed. The pickup truck hit the tractor-trailer so hard that the pickup wound up underneath the big rig. The driver of the pickup and its passenger were pronounced dead at the scene. The tractor-trailer driver was injured but is expected to recover.

Pipelines in fatal natural gas explosion were not properly marked

Investigators have determined that buried pipelines involved in two recent accidents where three workers were killed were not properly marked. Three dead and several injured in pipeline explosion south of Metroplex

An gas pipeline exploded in Johnson County today, killing three and injuring at least eight. The dead and injured include individuals who were working on the pipeline when the blast occurred. Witnesses reported that they heard a loud explosion and then saw a large cloud of smoke or steam. The injured have been taken to hospitals in Johnson, Somervell and Hood counties. The blast occurred approximately 50 miles south of the DFW Metroplex.
