A Fort Worth police officer was injured this weekend in an incident with a suspected drunk driver. Investigators say that the suspect, Demarquis Gray, struck the officer's patrol car in the 1400 block of East Loop 820 in the middle of the day Sunday afternoon. The patrol car was parked at the time, and all of its emergency lights were flashing. The officer was taken to Harris Methodist Hospital for treatment and is expected to make a full recovery. The suspect has been arrested.

Cement truck driver hurt in I-30 pileup

A cement truck driver was injured in a wreck on the I-30 Trinity River bridge in Dallas. Investigators say that the cement truck was traveling on the highway when it was struck from behind by an 18-wheeler. Oncor worker injured while cutting tree

The manager of an assisted living center in Dallas was injured in a recent fire. The fire broke out in the third-story apartment of one of the center's residents. Plano officer hurt during sting

A Plano police officer was hurt during a recent drug bust. A member of a roadcrew working on construction along I-30 near downtown Dallas was recently injured on the job. Investigators have discovered that the worker, whose name has not been released, was working behind a protected area on the side of the road when a commercial truck passed by at a high rate of speed causing debris to fly in the air. Debris flew in the worker's face, causing contusions to his face and neck and possibly injuring his eyes. The worker was taken to an area hospital for treatment by his co-workers.

Several injured when car strikes restaurant

Several patrons and employees were injured Sunday when a car struck a restaurant. The incident occurred at Carino's Italian restaurant in the 5900 block of S. Hulen Street in Fort Worth. The driver of the car, a patron on his way to dine at the restaurant, apparently suffered a heart attack, causing him to lose control of the vehicle. The driver later died at an area hospital.
