Austin Accident a Warning for Dallas Drivers

Motorcyclists from across Texas and around the country descended on Austin’s famed 6th Street last weekend to celebrate the Republic of Texas (ROT) Rally. Tragically, however, what was supposed to be a celebration of motorcycle riding was fatal for three motorcycle drivers in three separate Austin-area accidents.

Unfortunately, fatal motorcycle accidents are simply all too common. Reckless driving on the part of cyclists and motorists as well as the immutable danger associated with riding a motorcycle frequently result in serious injuries and fatalities.

Dramatic Workplace Accident Raises Questions about Safety

A 29-year-old lies at Parkland Memorial Hospital in critical condition after a workplace accident nearly caused his death. The man, an employee of a bakery supply company, fell into an industrial mixer this weekend, exposing him to the possibility of being fatally cut by the machine’s razor-sharp blades or, as a team of people fought to free him, from the risk of explosion triggered by a spark and combustible flour.

Not surprisingly, workplace conditions so fraught with risk that a simple accident would put the lives of an employee and rescue personnel in danger raises potentially serious questions about safety. It’s important to remember that in general workers have a right to a safe workplace and that on-the-job injuries can be the basis of a viable legal claim.

Do you have questions about the relationship of risk, the workplace, injuries, and the law? Have you been injured at your place of business? Fortunately for you, the attorneys at the Dallas firm of Fears Nachawati may be able to help you as you sort through these challenging issues. Amtrak’s Texas Eagle Derails Near Downtown Dallas

Although Amtrak served complimentary food and drinks in an effort to ameliorate the danger and inconvenience of the derailment, questions remain: who was injured during the derailment and how serious were the injuries? Despite Amtrak’s efforts to downplay the incident, the reality is that the train was delayed for a total of five hours and twenty-four minutes. The event was serious and the full effects remain unknown.

Have you been in a train accident? Sometimes the injuries can be immediate, apparent and severe. However, in other situations, the effects of the accident can be delayed and subtle.
