Reckless Driver Slams into Parked Car

Most automobile accidents occur between two drivers who are driving on surface streets or highways. Of course, that’s not always the way automobile accidents occur. For thousands of victims every year, a reckless driver strikes a parked car, causing property damage and giving rise to both insurance and legal claims.

This is exactly what happened early yesterday morning in Dallas when the getaway driver to a crime struck several cars in his attempt to evade police. Although attempted theft and an ensuing police chase aren’t the usual reasons that a driver is distracted, the result – property damage and costly claims – is exactly the same as if a ringing cell phone, crying baby, or blaring radio would have prompted the accident.

Fears | Nachawati helps automobile accident victims, whether they are involved in a highway collision or merely the driver who parked in the wrong place at the wrong time. If you or your car has been involved in an accident, you should give us a call. Regardless of whether it’s a fender bender or a catastrophic crash, you need an expert’s appraisal of what you’ve experienced. Contact us today! DART Takes Woman’s Life

DART’s newest Green Line takes thousands of Dallas residents back and forth to work every day. Tragically, however, the Green Line took a life yesterday. According to initial reports, a woman walking near the train tracks in South Dallas was struck and killed by a northbound train. DART suspended train service for two and half hours while it investigated the accident, but resumed the route soon after.

This isn’t the first DART-related casualty this year. And as many Dallas residents remember, several Dallas-area schoolchildren were injured last May when a DART operated escalator malfunctioned, throwing children down the flight of stairs.

Accidents involving public transit may not be as commonplace as automobile accidents, but they happen more than most North Texans realize. The attorneys at Fears | Nachawati represent accident victims, whether they are hurt while driving on the interstate or riding on public transportation.

Cardiologist Latest in String of Bike Accidents

Statistics are important, and the statistics on bicycling accidents say a lot: according to the National Highway Transportation Safety Administration (NHTSA), more than 500 Americans are killed in biking accidents every year and an astounding 300,000 riders suffer accident-related injuries.

Real-life stories drive home the stark reality that the people who are injured are more than numbers and their family’s grief isn’t bound by the edges of a Word document. Last week, Dr. Benjamin Siu, a pediatric cardiologist at Cook’s Children Hospital in Fort Worth, died when he fell from his bicycle. The accident wasn’t particularly dramatic, but it was enough to cost Dr. Siu his life.

Accidents on the road are far more common than most people realize. If you’ve been injured – or if you’re worried about what would happen if you are – you should talk to the personal injury and automobile accident experts at Fears | Nachawati. Our attorneys are prepared to fight for your rights and secure the compensation you deserve. For your free consultation, call 1.866.322.6898 or email http://www.fnlawfirm.com/contact.cfm.

Young Couple Tragically Killed in Irving Accident

Two University of Texas students who had returned to D/FW during the holidays were killed earlier this week when the sports car in which they were riding broke through a guardrail and careened into an Irving canal. Although the precise cause of death remains in doubt, authorities believe that high speed – and possibly alcohol – may have played a part in the tragic accident. A third person, the driver, was also killed.

The accident sheds lights on an important issue: what kind of liability exists for a driver whose negligent driving causes the injury of a passenger? If you’re in accident – either as a lead-footed driver or an injured passenger – you may need to make some careful decisions about your legal rights.

Fears | Nachawati can help you understand your rights and responsibilities under the law. Fort Worth Couple Starts 2012 with a Car in Their Bedroom

2012 started with a bang – literally – for a Fort Worth couple who awoke in the early hours of January 1st with the lights of a pickup truck staring back at them. As they lay sleeping, an 18-year old pickup truck driver was drinking heavily and, ultimately, making the decision to drive. Sometime after 4 o’clock in the morning, the suspected drunk driver lost control of his truck, skidded across the lawns of an otherwise safe and quiet residential neighborhood, and slammed into the Cahill family’s home.

Now, the 18-year old faces serious criminal charges, and the Cahills begin the new year with an extra item on their family’s to-do list: making thousands of dollars of repairs to their damaged home. The attorneys at Fears | Nachawati would advise that people who suffer property damage from negligent drivers, neighbors, or other residents add one more item to their to-do list: give us a call.

If you suffer loss at the hands of another, your legal rights may be affected, giving rise to potential legal claims against the person who caused your loss. Parents May Be Liable for Child-Caused Injuries

When you see your children playing with their friends, you’re probably thinking about how cute they look. You’re probably not thinking about the derivative liability you hold as the child’s parent. However, given the number of injuries that’s possible for your child to inadvertently cause, perhaps it’s time that you should.

Parental liability, the term generally used to refer to a parent’s obligation to pay for damage done by a child’s negligent, intentional, or criminal acts, can run into the hundreds of thousands or even millions of dollars.

Just two days ago, two children in Dallas were playing with a handgun when an 8-year-old was accidentally shot. Now, the child is fighting for his life in a DFW hospital. Regardless of whether the child survives, the parents who negligently permitted these children to access a loaded firearm could face very serious criminal and civil liability.

Want to know more about the potential liability you may face as a result of your child’s decisions? Speak to a Fears | Nachawati attorney today to find out how we can help you. You consultation is just a phone call or email away. To speak to our experienced, expert counsel, call 1.866.322.6898 or email us at http://www.fnlawfirm.com/contact.cfm.
