Woman claims God told her to kill co-worker

A woman told Dallas police that God told her to kill her longtime co-worker this week at a Carrollton pest control business. Theresa Gail Robbins walked into her workplace this week and shot Greg Brasch once in the chest with a handgun. Brasch was taken to Baylor Medical Center where he was pronounced dead. Robbins has been arrested and is being held at the Dallas County Jail.

Five injured in ammonia plant leak

Five people were hospitalized in intensive care after an ammonia plant leak at an Alabama chicken freezing plant earlier this week. Authorities report that at least 130 people sought treatment for respiratory problems after encountering a large vapor cloud. The plant, operated by Millard Refrigerated Services, is located on an industrial canal near Mobile Bay. Authorities are continuing to investigate the cause of the leak.

One injured in Arlington hold up

One worker was injured in a recent hold up in Arlington. Police say that the suspect walked into a bank in a Krogers grocery store in Arlington and used a note to demand money of a teller. The suspect received an unknown amount of cash from the teller, and ran out of the store. A grocery store worker was injured when the man rushed past him, apparently pushing him down. The suspect remains at large.

Texas workplace deaths up 3.6% from prior year

A recently released U.S. Department of Labor report determined that Texas workplace deaths were up 3.6% from the previous year. Heat blamed for sending 2 members of landscaping crew to hospital

Two members of a landscaping crew working in Dallas suffered heat exhaustion earlier this week. Fort Worth police officer injured in on-duty car crash

A Fort Worth police officer was injured in a head-on car crash on Saturday. Authorities report that the officer was pursuing a fatal kidnapping suspect when the suspect turned the wrong way on U.S. 287. The officer was waiting in the emergency lane for the suspect to approach when the suspect hit his car head-on. The officer was taken to an area hospital for treatment.
