Rookie Dallas cop accidentally shot by veteran officer

A rookie Dallas police officer was accidentally by a veteran member of the force at a house in West Dallas. The incident occurred when the officers were searching an abandoned house for a robbery suspect. Authorities say that there was no power inside the house and it was difficult to see. The veteran officer may have become startled and fired, thinking he was involved in a confrontation with a suspect. His bullet his the rookie officer, who was on his third day of patrol, in the upper left side of his bullet proof vest. The vest was not pierced. The rookie officer was taken to Parkland Memorial Hospital for treatment, in good condition.
