Fort Worth police officer injured in on-duty car crash

A Fort Worth police officer was injured in a head-on car crash on Saturday. Authorities report that the officer was pursuing a fatal kidnapping suspect when the suspect turned the wrong way on U.S. 287. The officer was waiting in the emergency lane for the suspect to approach when the suspect hit his car head-on. The officer was taken to an area hospital for treatment. The suspect was critically injured in the crash.
