Teenager Victim of Driver’s Negligence

This weekend, members of the Aledo community, a North Texas suburb, will mourn the tragic death of 14-year-old Alex Christian. In the early hours of Thursday morning, Alex was riding as the passenger of an older friend’s pickup truck when high speed, a hilly road, and showman driving caused the driver to lose control. Leaving the road at high speed, the truck sailed through a fence and a row of mailboxes before rolling into a home.

Having come to rest, the homeowner heard Christian’s cries for help and watched horrified and helpless as the truck caught fire and burned the passenger trapped inside the cab. The driver was also killed in the accident, and two other teens were taken to nearby hospitals.

Fears | Nachawati understands how painful and tragic a teenager’s wrongful death can be. Family and friends are caught totally unaware, and often struggle for months and, in many cases, years with the loss of such a young, vibrant life. Have you lost a loved one in an automobile accident? You may be wise to seriously consider whether a wrongful death lawsuit is appropriate for you and your family. Airplane Passenger Accident Victim Continues to Recover

Earlier this month, Lauren Scruggs, a writer and commentator on fashion, was seriously injured in an aviation accident. After riding in a chartered, commercial flight to view Christmas lights, Scruggs inadvertently walked into the propeller of the small plane. As a result, she has lost her hand and an eye and remains in the hospital recovering.

Ironically, the reason that Scruggs was injured was because she was returning to thank the pilot for the trip. The pilot, however, had left the propeller running, a violation of standard operating procedures. In fact, at least one other flyer has called him out on his negligence, pointing out that traditionally no one – not even the pilot – is permitted to exit a small aircraft before the propellers come to a full and complete stop.

Injured in Another State?

Texans live at the crossroads of the nation, and, as a result, everyday thousands of Texans travel outside the state for important business and personal reasons. Unfortunately, most travelling Texans don’t realize the legal risks they take when they step beyond the borders of the Lone Star state.

Whether you regularly meet clients in Louisiana, visit family in Arkansas, deliver products to customers in Oklahoma, or pitch new business in New Mexico, the legal reality is that your presence in these “foreign” jurisdictions places you under the law of these distant locales. What if you’re involved in an automobile accident during your time in these states? You may be subject to laws that you’ve never considered.

Fortunately for you, the problem of “foreign laws” is one that we’ve thoroughly considered. So, if you’re involved in an automobile accident during your time outside the great state of Texas, you may need the help of the experts at Fears | Nachawati. Your free consultation is just a phone call or email away! Call us today at 1.866.322.6898 or email us at http://www.fnlawfirm.com/contact.cfm. Let us fight to protect your rights.

18-Wheeler Accident Stops Traffic, Causes Accidents

Interstate 30 ground to a halt earlier this week after an 18-wheeler carrying medical supplies overturned, blocking four lanes of traffic and dumping gallons of diesel fuel onto the highway and into a nearby creek. Unable to stop in time, at least two other accidents occurred as a result of the truck accident.

While it’s unclear precisely why the 18-wheeler turned over, it is certain that the accident caused thousands of dollars in property damage and physical pain and suffering that will likely cost even more in lost work time, medical remedies, and physical therapy.

Fears | Nachawati knows how difficult it can be to recover from a trucking accident. At 80,000 pounds, big rigs pack a punch when they strike a 2,000 pound passenger car. Unfortunately, the frequent result is serious injury and death. Additionally, thousands of automobile accidents occur every year as the result of an 18-wheeler accident – just like what happened on I-30.

If you’ve been injured in an 18-wheeler accident, you need to call our experts immediately! For your free consultation, call us at 1.866.322.6898 or email us at http://www.fnlawfirm.com/contact.cfm. Let us help you.

The Legal Consequences of Driving High

Last week, Thomas Harper drove his SUV into a pickup truck and shot a would-be Good Samaritan who attempted to help him after the accident. Despite the efforts of medical personnel, Harper’s handling of his car and his firearm produced two fatalities. An investigative report released this week revealed a tragic contributing factor: Harper was high on marijuana during the accident and shooting.

From a public safety standpoint, the message is clear: don’t smoke and drive. As a tort law reality, however, the issue of how the law treats people who are under the influence of a narcotic when they commit a reckless act is more complicated than it might first appear. For instance, victims of such carelessness and their families will want to establish the extent to which drug use caused an act versus merely increased the probability that such an act would take place.

Complicated evidentiary problems accompany any drug-induced wrongdoing. If you’ve been the victim of a drunk or high driver, you need a legal team capable of sorting out these challenging factual and legal matters. Fortunately for you, you’ll find the talented, experienced, and dedicated advisors at Fears | Nachawati. Call us today! Road Rage Leads to Gunfire, Injury

The father and stepfather of four children is fighting for his life in a North Texas hospital this holiday season, the tragic victim of the combination of road rage and gunfire.

Just eight days prior to Christmas Day, Justin Brazil was shot in the head after he was involved in a confrontation with another driver. What started as yelling turned to something considerably more violent – and potentially deadly – when the other driver, allegedly a man named Bobby Carl Schule, pulled a gun from his car and fired seven shots in the direction of Brazil, hitting Brazil in the head.

At the moment, Brazil and his family are praying for recovery, and police have taken Mr. Schule into custody, pending charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. However, in the near future, the Brazil family may soon turn to the larger question of whether to pursue civil claims against Schule for his intentionally reckless conduct.
