Risks to Children Spike on Halloween Night

Do you know how long it takes a fast-moving car to stop? Travelling just 30 miles per hour, a driver a second-and-a-half to respond to the sight of a child pedestrian and a full sixty-six feet before coming to a complete stop. At 40 miles per hour, it takes more than 85 feet to stop the car!

Pedestrians are always in danger of negligent drivers, but Halloween presents considerably heightened risks. Not only are more children on the street, but a large number of distractions make it more difficult for parents to keep kids off the road.

Has your child been hit by a motorist? Are you a driver who struck a pedestrian with your car? Sorting out responsibility for these kinds of automobile accidents can be challenging – and often require the help of lawyers with uniquely developed negotiating skills. Fortunately for you, those are the skills Fears | Nachawati attorneys offer. For your free consultation, call 1.866.322.6898 or email us at http://www.fnlawfirm.com/contact.cfm.

Spate of Serious Accidents Prompt TxDOT to Close Highway 67 in Dallas

The northbound lanes of Highway 67 near Camp Wisdom Road appear to be unsafe at any speed. Yesterday morning the Texas Department of Transportation closed the onramp completely after several accidents raised increasingly serious safety concerns.

The already short onramp, which has been further shortened as a result of construction on Highway 67, forced drivers to reach highway speeds in just 100 feet. For many cars and many drivers, that has been just too little distance to accelerate to a safe speed.

Understanding the road conditions – such as the dangers of Highway 67 – and weather conditions like high winds, rain, and darkness can be just as important to understanding the causes of your accident as the speed of the cars or the presence of distractions.

With the automobile accident experts at Fears | Nachawati handling you’re case, you can trust that we explore all of the contributing factors to your accident, including road and weather conditions. For our dedicated attorneys, going the extra mile is just part of what we offer our clients. To find out how we can help you, contact us today. Dense Fog Blankets D/FW, Threatens Driver Safety

This morning, D/FW drivers woke to a heavy fog that severely reduced visibility across North Texas. The fog was so severe, in fact, that several flights were delayed at Love Field and DFW International Airport and thousands of drivers began their commute with a heightened level of caution. Fortunately, DFW drivers successfully avoided a major accident during today’s foggy commute.

Tragically, that’s not always the case. Weather conditions such as fog, snow, rain and even wind contribute to hundreds of accidents in Texas every year. Dallas and Fort Worth are home to extreme weather – and the result is increased risk and a higher incidence of property damage, personal injury, and death.

Has inclement weather contributed to your automobile accident? Do you know how bad weather can affect your level of liability and likelihood of recovery? We do. The courtroom-tested experts at Fears | Nachawati are prepared to fight for your rights and secure the recovery you deserve. For your free consultation, call us at 1.866.322.6898 or email us at http://www.fnlawfirm.com/contact.cfm. We’re ready to help you.

Speeding Car Kills One, Injures Three High School Students

A tree near Highway 360 in Grand Prairie, a speeding car, and an out-of-control driver caused the death of one Timberview High School student and injured three more this weekend. The accident involved yet another SUV – this time a Lexus RX300 – that threw a passenger out of the car. Tragically, all of the people involved in the accident were under the age of 18.

Young, inexperienced drivers cause a disproportionate number of car accidents in North Texans. What’s more, these accidents are often the unnecessary result of negligent behavior such as a texting-while-driving and speeding.

Has your child been injured because of a reckless high school driver? Even if your son or daughter consented to being the car, that doesn’t necessarily mean that he or she consented to excessive speeds or reckless conduct. Are you ready to find out about your family members’ rights under the law? Talk to the experienced attorneys at Fears | Nachawati today. For your free consultation, call us at 1.866.322.6898 or email us at http://www.fnlawfirm.com/contact.cfm. We’re ready to work for you.

Arlington Teen 4th Casualty in Alcohol-Induced Crash

The automobile accident that rocked the parents of Arlington twins – both of whom died in last week’s single car accident – has now claimed another life. Earlier this week 18-year-old Christian Martinez, a passenger in that horrific accident, died from injuries he sustained in the October 10 collision. Investigators also confirmed this week what several observers immediately suspected: alcohol played a part in causing the accident.

Parents of teens are frequently confronted with situations similar to the one playing out in Arlington. How should I defend my child’s if he or she is hurt in an automobile accident caused by one of their friends? Who is responsible, and what kind of compensation is appropriate? Statistics on Texas drivers reveal that teens disproportionately ride in groups and get in accidents when compared to the general population. The tragic result, of course, is that your child may be hurt through the recklessness of his friends.

These are challenging questions for North Texas families. Fortunately, the lawyers at Fears | Nachawati specialize in dealing with these kinds of situations. Talk to us today to find out what you need to know about your options. For your free consultation, call us at 1.866.322.6898 or email us at http://www.fnlawfirm.com/contact.cfm. Let us help you!
