This weekend, members of the Aledo community, a North Texas suburb, will mourn the tragic death of 14-year-old Alex Christian. In the early hours of Thursday morning, Alex was riding as the passenger of an older friend’s pickup truck when high speed, a hilly road, and showman driving caused the driver to lose control. Leaving the road at high speed, the truck sailed through a fence and a row of mailboxes before rolling into a home.
Having come to rest, the homeowner heard Christian’s cries for help and watched horrified and helpless as the truck caught fire and burned the passenger trapped inside the cab. The driver was also killed in the accident, and two other teens were taken to nearby hospitals.
