A North Texas teenager died last weekend when a Burlington
Northern Santa Fe train struck him as he walked near the tracks. Walker County
investigators point to an unexpected source – the young man’s headphones – as the
principal cause of the accident. Witness statements suggest that the man was
listening to music and never heard the train approaching. Tragically, it seems
that what he was listening to may have inadvertently cost him his life.
Whether they are in the ears of pedestrians or drivers,
headphones can be dangerous distractions. And as the prevalence of
music-playing cell phones increases, the risk that distraction will lead to
injury or even death increases, too.
Were headphones – and the distractions they often cause –
involved in your recent accident? Do you want to know whether those headphones
might influence your legal liability or potential recovery? Find out the answer
