Shared Decisions, Shared Liability
A woman in Irving was struck by a car and hurt as she was trying to cross Northwest Highway. An investigation of the accident revealed that a man with whom the woman was travelling called out to her, encouraging her to cross the intersection, and directly leading to her accident. He advised her despite being drunk. The question that this situation raises is clear: to what extent was the man responsible for the woman’s injuries?
Shared decisions often result in shared liability. In fact, in many cases these shared decisions can have a significant impact on the damages that negligent parties must pay. Have you or a loved one been injured? Did another person’s decisions cause the accident? Find out how these decisions may have influenced your legal rights by talking to the professionals at Fears | Nachawati today. Elderly Driver May Have Inadvertently Killed Teen on Highway
The risks associated with drunk and drowsy driving are well documented. The risks that America’s elderly drivers impose, however, are less frequently mentioned. Nevertheless, those risks remain significant, and today, a Fort Worth family is suffering in the wake of a negligent, older driver.
According to a preliminary investigation, on an otherwise quiet night earlier this week a 17-year-old from Lake Worth was driving along Highway 199 when a 72-year-old driving the wrong way down the highway appeared in his lane. The teen took evasive action, but it was too little, too late and the cars collided. Sadly, both drivers died at the scene – and as a result, the teen’s family is struggling to come to terms with what their next steps should be.
As a result of our many years of experience with tragic situations such as the one that took place on the eve of Thanksgiving, the personal injury and wrongful death attorneys at Fears | Nachawati understand the emotional pain and suffering that families go through when a loved one is lost to a drunk, drowsy, or elderly driver. If you’ve suffered at the hands of another driver’s negligence, contact us immediately. For your free consultation, call us at 1.866.322.6898 or email us at http://www.fnlawfirm.com/contact.cfm.

Risks to Children Spike on Halloween Night
Do you know how long it takes a fast-moving car to stop? Travelling just 30 miles per hour, a driver a second-and-a-half to respond to the sight of a child pedestrian and a full sixty-six feet before coming to a complete stop. At 40 miles per hour, it takes more than 85 feet to stop the car!
Pedestrians are always in danger of negligent drivers, but Halloween presents considerably heightened risks. Not only are more children on the street, but a large number of distractions make it more difficult for parents to keep kids off the road.
Has your child been hit by a motorist? Are you a driver who struck a pedestrian with your car? Sorting out responsibility for these kinds of automobile accidents can be challenging – and often require the help of lawyers with uniquely developed negotiating skills. Fortunately for you, those are the skills Fears | Nachawati attorneys offer. For your free consultation, call 1.866.322.6898 or email us at http://www.fnlawfirm.com/contact.cfm.

After fighting a Caddo Mills residential fire late into Monday night, two Hunt County firefighters were sent to a local area hospital to recovery from injuries sustained while battling the blaze. Despite being just a single residence, the Caddo Mills fire was a three-alarm blaze.

Firefighters Injured in Dallas Blaze
Four Dallas firefighters were hurt earlier this week while fighting a fire started in a vacant house. When the home's roof collapsed, a firefighter who was on the roof fell into the fire. Three fellow firefighters were able to pull him from the burning home, but not before all of them sustained burns and smoke inhalation.
Firefighters routinely face considerable risk in the line of duty. Unfortunately, these risks are made more significant when property owners are negligent in the maintenance of their home or business. Risk to firefighter safety is compounded further when property owners maintain dangerous products or chemicals on the premises.
If your loved one is a firefighter, they need to know the risks they face and understand that negligent or dangerous property owners may be responsible for the unique dangers firefighters encounter as they fight fires. To understand all of these complicated legal issues, talk to the experts at Fears | Nachawati. We're ready to help you and, if necessary, fight on your behalf. Texas Judge Orders Investigation of Toyota Motor Corp. for Legal Misconduct
Did Toyota Motor Corp. intentionally hide evidence during a 2006 lawsuit brought by a victim of a negligently designed Camry? Dallas drivers – which include thousands of Camry drivers and tens of thousands of Toyota drivers – are particularly interested in this question. Fortunately for them, Texas District Judge John E. Neill is interested in this question, too. In fact, just last week Judge Neill appointed an independent counsel to investigate the issue and gave him the power to probe whether Toyota violated a court order in the case, which settled for $1.5 million.
Judge Neill’s step is unusual, but it’s not unprecedented. Products liability is important – and tampering with evidence and short-circuiting the discovery process in violation of a court order is of even greater concern. In fact, these proceedings could have significant impact on the way hundreds of claims against Toyota are handled.
If you own a Toyota and have a product liability concern, you need to contact the product liability and legal malpractice attorneys at Fears | Nachawati. We know how to fight for your rights and to protect you against corporate attorneys who refuse to play within the rules. Call 1.866.705.7584 or send an email to info@fnlawfirm.com. We can help!
