DART Worker Injured by DART Vehicle
Early yesterday morning, a DART worker broke his leg when his car backed over him. The worker had stepped out of his car in order to open the HOV gate at Central and I-635.
Exactly who is responsible for the man’s broken leg is an issue that has sparked considerable debate. In situations like this, some experts point to the driver’s failure to set the car’s parking break as an instance of contributory negligence. However, others question whether the car was poorly designed or inappropriately used and suggest that the manufacturer or manager may be at fault.

Drunk Driver Injures Irving City Employee
Drunk driving kills nearly 5,000 Texans every year. The best news for an Irving dump truck driver slowly recovering in a D/FW hospital is that he’s not one of this year’s fatalities. Tragically, the City of Irving worker was seriously injured when a drunk driver slammed into his truck earlier this week. The city worker wasn’t the only driver injured – the drunk driver sustained injuries as well and was taken to the hospital.

LBJ Freeway Expansion Threatens Driver Safety
In the long-run, the LBJ Freeway expansion will be beneficial. As one of the most congested roadways in the nation, I-635 is in dire need of the $2 billion renovation that began last weekend and is anticipated to take five years. However, the tragic reality is that the next five years will include dangerous construction and risky driving. Both workers and passengers will likely suffer injury as a result of the expansive project and the sheer volume of traffic that will pass through the busy area.
If you’re involved in an accident on LBJ while its under construction, you should speak with the injury experts at Fears | Nachawati. While negligence is often the cause of traffic accidents, improper roadway construction and renovation may be a contributing factor, too. It’s important to consider all of the causal factors when assessing an accident and apportioning of liability. For a free consultation, call at 1.866.705.7584 or send an email to info@fnlawfirm.com. Fort Worth Man Receives Face Transplant
In March, Dallas Wiens was a former construction worker without a face. The tragic victim of an electrical accident in 2008, Mr. Wiens survived the accident, but his most defining feature – his face – was irreparably damaged. However, early this year doctors and nurses at Brigham & Women’s Hospital in Boston, Massachusetts, succeeded at providing Mr. Wiens with lips, eyebrows, a beard and, most important to Mr. Wiens, the ability to feel his daughter’s kiss.
Modern medicine can accomplish incredibly things, as Mr. Wiens’s new life demonstrates. If you’ve been injured in a construction accident, you should consider whether you want to fully recover. If you do, it may be time to talk to the personal injury experts at Fears | Nachawati. We know how to help you calculate your damages and ensure that you receive the medical care you need and deserve.
