Commuter Train in Carrollton Claims Pedestrian

A man walking near the train tracks at Frankford Road in Carrollton, a suburb of Dallas, Texas, died when a Denton County Transportation Authority (DCTA) commuter train struck and killed him. The DCTA connects with the Dallas Area Rapid Transit’s (DART) Green Line, which connects much of the D/FW area by light rail.

Today’s accident isn’t the first involving Dallas area trains. Earlier this year, school children on a DART platform were injured when a DART escalator malfunctioned, throwing them down the stairs to the subterranean platform below. Several people were also injured in June when DART and Trinity Railway Express (TRE) trains were responsible for carrying thousands of North Texans to the Dallas Mavericks victory parade in downtown Dallas.

Have you been injured by a Dallas area train? You’re not alone. D/FW trains are responsible for safely transporting paying riders. Personal injury isn’t part of the bargain. Don’t sit on your rights! Justice may be just a phone call away. Trust your legal interests to the expert attorneys at Fears | Nachawati. Dallas Driver Slams into Residence

East Dallas was the site of a not-as-unusual-as-you-might-think accident this weekend. A 28-year old driver lost control of his car and slammed his car into the home of a local residence. The automobile accident sparked a fire that ultimately destroyed the residence—and sent emotional shockwaves through the homeowners who had scrimped and saved for years to make their house a home.

Yes, it’s rare that Dallas drivers lose control of their cars and inadvertently crash into buildings, however, it’s not as unprecedented as you might think. Every year, several Dallas homes and commercial buildings are damaged or destroyed as a result of driver negligence.

The experienced attorneys at Fears | Nachawati understand that these accidents present unique challenges to both property owners and drivers. The factual circumstances surrounding the accident can be difficult to present and the legal conclusions can be even harder to draw. If you’ve been involved in an unusual automobile accident, you should trust your legal interests and financial claims to the specialists at Fears | Nachawati who have the experience to protect you. 18-Wheeler Causes Wrongful Death, Family Receives $4.7 Million

A family in Beaumont, Texas, is finally on the road to recovery after suffering the unexpected and tragic loss of Santos Granja, a beloved husband and father.

Last year, Mr. Granja was resurfacing a road as part of his duties with the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) when an 18-wheeler driver lost control of his big rig. The loss of control was momentary, but the effects were permanent. The 18-wheeler slammed into a nearby car and the car, in turn, struck Mr. Granja and four others.

The Granja family’s wrongful death suit finally concluded this week, with the jury awarding $4.7 million in damages to the family, including more than $2.7 million to Mr. Granja’s bereaved widow. Dedicated attorneys succeeded in bringing justice to Mrs. Granja and her children though skillful practice and a well-honed understanding of how trucking companies shield themselves from liability.

Fears | Nachawati knows how painful the loss of a loved one can be. 18-wheeler accidents can be catastrophic, both to the driver-victim and his or her family. If you’ve been injured in an 18-wheeler accident in the D/FW area, you should contact us immediately. Put our expertise to work for you! Chain Reaction Accident Takes Fort Worth Man’s Life

Jonathan Rodriguez, a 20-year old resident of Fort Worth, died in a North Texas hospital yesterday of injuries he sustained when a van plowed into the back of the parked pickup truck in which he was riding. Rodriguez wouldn’t have been in the accident that ultimately took his life but for the minor accident that occurred just moments before between his pickup truck and an 18-wheeler.

Chain reaction accidents like the one that took place on Tuesday are more common than many North Texans realize. They not only produce tragic results and considerable property damage, but they also present legal challenges that confound inexperienced attorneys. The Rodriguez case, for instance, might require the filing of a wrongful death lawsuit as well as legal investigation of both accidents.

Unfortunately for many accident victims and their loved ones, some attorneys just aren’t prepared to deal with complicated accidents. They lack the resources to fully investigate what occurred or authoritatively present their findings before a court.

The dedicated attorneys at Fears | Nachawati have the combination of experience, expertise, and professional commitment to see their clients case from unfortunate beginning to successful end.
