A Fort Worth police officer was injured in a head-on car crash on Saturday. Authorities report that the officer was pursuing a fatal kidnapping suspect when the suspect turned the wrong way on U.S. 287. The officer was waiting in the emergency lane for the suspect to approach when the suspect hit his car head-on. The officer was taken to an area hospital for treatment. The suspect was critically injured in the crash.

EMT killed in carbon monoxide accident

One Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) was killed and two of the victims co-workers were hospitalized after being overcome by carbon monoxide while on duty in the east Texas town of White Oak. Authorities believe that the carbon monoxide came from a generator that was left running on an ambulance. The ambulance was parked in a closed bay when the accident occurred. OSHA is investigating this accident. No carbon monoxide detector was installed in the building because the building itself runs solely on electric.
